- Skip: A container provided for the purpose of collecting and disposing of waste.
2. Booking and Payment Terms
To book a skip with us, customers must provide accurate information regarding the type of skip required, the duration of hire, and the delivery location in New Cross.
- Deposit: A deposit may be required at the time of booking to secure the reservation.
- Payment Methods: We accept various payment methods, including credit/debit cards and bank transfers.
- Payment Schedule: Full payment must be completed before skip delivery unless prior arrangements have been made.
All payments are subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, and any fraudulent activity will result in immediate termination of services.
3. Delivery and Collection
We strive to deliver skips promptly at the agreed-upon time and location in New Cross. Customers must ensure that access to the delivery site is clear and accessible.
- Site Preparation: It is the customer’s responsibility to prepare the site for skip placement, ensuring stability and compliance with local regulations.
- Collection: Skips will be collected at the end of the hire period. If collection cannot occur on the scheduled date due to unforeseen circumstances, customers will be notified promptly.
4. Use of the Skip
Customers must use the skip in accordance with its intended purpose. Misuse of the skip may lead to additional charges or cancellation of services.
4.1 Loading Requirements
Ensure that all waste is loaded responsibly, distributing weight evenly to prevent tipping or damage to the skip container.
- Volume Limits: Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of the skip. Overfilling may result in extra fees or the need for an additional skip.
- Prohibited Items: The following items are strictly prohibited from being disposed of in our skips:
- Hazardous waste, including chemicals, asbestos, and medical waste.
- Electrical appliances containing harmful substances like refrigerants.
- Large mattresses, paints, and solvents.
- Live plants, contaminated organic waste, and other non-acceptable materials.
5. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for ensuring their compliance with all relevant regulations during the skip hire period.
- Legal Compliance: All users must adhere to local laws regarding waste disposal and environmental protection.
- Insurance: It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that their property is protected against any potential damages caused during skip placement.
6. Liabilities
Skip Hire New Cross is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss suffered by the customer, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of business, or damage to property, resulting from the use of our services.
- Direct Damages: We are responsible only for direct damages caused by our negligence, up to the limit of the insurance coverage.
- Force Majeure: We are not liable for any delays or failures in performance resulting from circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters, strikes, or government regulations.
7. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Customers may cancel their booking under the following conditions:
- Cancellations made 48 hours prior to the scheduled delivery will receive a full refund of any deposits paid.
- Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior may incur a cancellation fee up to 50% of the total hire cost.
- No-Shows: Failure to be available for skip delivery on the scheduled date without prior notice may result in the full fee being charged.
Refunds will be processed within 14 business days of the cancellation request, excluding fees applicable as per the above terms.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
9. Amendments to Terms and Conditions
Skip Hire New Cross reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Customers are advised to review the terms periodically to stay informed of any changes.
10. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, we encourage customers to contact our support team to resolve the matter amicably. If a resolution cannot be reached, the dispute may be escalated to mediation or arbitration as per legal requirements.
11. Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unenforceable or invalid under any applicable law, such invalidity will not render these Terms and Conditions unenforceable or invalid as a whole. Such provisions will be deleted without affecting the remaining provisions herein.
12. Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the customer and Skip Hire New Cross regarding skip hire services, superseding any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral.
